Below is a message sent by Rebecca Scott <rscott@faspe-ethics.org> to the Dean of Students:

Dear Dean of Students of BU STH ,

My name is Rebecca Scott, and I am the Director of Programs at FASPE (Fellowships at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics). I'm writing today to share that we are now accepting applications for FASPE's 2026 Clergy & Religious Leaders Fellowship. We are grateful for the letter of recommendation you submitted on behalf of Tom Reid in the past, and we hope that you will consider sharing the opportunity with other students or early-career professionals whom you believe would both benefit from and contribute to the program.

As a reminder, each year FASPE awards 80-90 two-week fellowships focusing on professional ethics and ethical leadership to young professionals and graduate students in the fields of medicine, law, business, journalism, clergy & religious leadership, and design & technology. Our clergy & religious leaders fellowship begins by examining the actions and choices of German clergy who enabled Nazi policies. With this context, we then discuss current ethical issues facing religious leaders and strategies for identifying and responding to them.  The program takes place in Germany and Poland and is fully funded.

The 2026 program will take place from June 19 to July 3 and the deadline to apply is January 4, 2026. We will be holding a virtual information session on September 30 at 11am EST.  Potential applicants who would like to learn more can register here.

I have included email-friendly text below, and I am available to discuss the program with you or any interested applicant over the phone (646-844-0151) or by email (rscott@faspe-ethics.org).

Thank you for your consideration.

Best regards,

Rebecca

Summer Ethical Leadership Fellowship For Students and New Clergy

FASPE (Fellowships at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics) is now accepting applications for its 2026 Clergy & Religious Leaders program.

FASPE Clergy & Religious Leaders  is a fully-funded, two-week fellowship program in professional ethics and ethical leadership that approaches the study of professional ethics by examining the actions and choices of German and international clergy in enabling Nazi policies. It then draws on this historical example to help Clergy Fellows grasp their responsibility as religious leaders in their field and strategize ways to confront the ethical issues currently facing religious leaders of all faiths. The program takes place in Germany and Poland at key sites of historical significance, allowing fellows to benefit from immersive, contextual learning.

DETAILS:

  • Program Dates: Friday, June 19 – Friday, July 3, 2026.
  • Fully-funded: All program costs are covered, including travel, lodging, and food.
  • Interdisciplinary: FASPE Clergy & Religious Leaders Fellows travel and share some seminars with Fellows in the FASPE Medical and Journalism programs.
  • Itinerary: The program is planned to take place in Berlin, Krakow, and Oswiecim (the location of the former Nazi extermination camp of Auschwitz).
  • For last year’s schedule as an example, please see here.
